(list sent in by current KWHS foster parents)

10. It allows you to do volunteer work in the comfort of your own home.

9. It provides the joy of having a pet in your life without having the financial or long term commitment that permanent pet ownership requires.

8. Though it is always sad to see them go because they become a part of your heart, you feel good sending them on their way because they are social kittens and sure to get adopted.

7. It teaches children the importance of providing proper care and a nurturing environment for animals.

6. When you get an animal that is scared, or unsure of people, there is nothing more rewarding then the first time they really trust you and let their guard down. That never gets old.

5. It provides mother cats a better environment to raise their kittens with less stress and exposure to illness. They are so grateful, and affectionate, it’s wonderful to get to help them raise their litter.

4. It’s a rewarding experience to watch kittens grow up from tiny, helpless babies into energetic, playful kittens ready to go to their forever homes. You get to raise kittens through some of their cutest stages: learning to walk, when their tails start to move, when they try to wrestle together and fall over because they can’t keep their balance. It’s a constant supply of cuteness, and it’s good for your soul.

3. It provides kittens a great introduction to life in a home where they can be cuddled and socialized properly rather than a kennel. Playing with a kitten on a daily basis is a tough job, but someone has to do it!
2. It’s a great feeling to give a second chance to an orphaned, injured and/or sick animal that may not have had the opportunity otherwise.

1. You get to save a life, one (or more) fostered animal at a time!
