Community Helping KWHS

We rely on the community to help us fund all the activities that K-W Humane Society does.  Without your support we could not provide a full-time education program, help sick, injured, and homeless animals, offer educational seminars, offer the Tales for Tails reading program, visitation to senior’s homes, provide behavioural training to dogs to make them more adoptable and much more…

You can help by running your own fundraising event for the K-W Humane Society or by supporting one of the great events listed below.

To host an event for KWHS:

  • Please let us know you are holding an event – we will help in anyway possible.
  • We can advertise your event on this page.
  • We can provide you with copy’s of our logo or with information to help make your event informative.
  • Please take lots of pictures so we can post a story about your event on our website.

Thanks you for supporting these past events:

An Unbelievable Amount of Generosity!

GiftsThe holidays at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society wouldn’t have been the same without Ryan, Senior Director of Blackberry Operations at RIM.  Every year Ryan organizes a Christmas charity drive within his department, and luckily for us we were the recipient of his goodwill!  Ryan is in charge of over 200 employees, he put them to work raising money for the animals at the Centre.  Vendors donated items for a silent auction and employees bid on them!  Not only that, many people gave cash donations or supplies that we always need.  Ryan brought in a full car load of supplies: shavings for rabbit cages, dog and cat food, treats, toys, medical supplies, cleaning products, and so much more!  After putting all the wonderful items under our Christmas Wish Tree, he still had more to give!  Ryan pulled out a large cash donation of $2,195! Wow!

Thank you Ryan for organizing this charity drive and thank you to all the employees of Blackberry Operations for your generosity!

The House of Friendship makes friends with the Humane Society!

The Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society would sincerely like to thank the House of Friendship Live and Learn Program!  The Live and Learn program is for women who have pre-school aged children living with low income.  With their own personal challenges, these amazing women and their children still took time to think of the pets at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society.  Using their own talents of making homemade soup, cookie mixes, and hot chocolate, they sold their goods to different members of the community.  With their hard work and dedication they raised and donated $308.40!

Thank you for making the lives of the animals at the Centre better!
