13th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk-A-Thon

This year is the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society’s 13th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk-A-Thon. This event is being held on Sunday May 24, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m..  The Walk-A-Thon starts at Bingemans where people and their dogs register for the walk, have their picture taken and their pledges counted.  The walkers follow the Walter Bean Trail along the Grand River to the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society where a fun filled event awaits them.  Walkers all receive a “doggie bag” filled with treats and information for both dog and owner when they complete the walk.  There are small pools set up for the dogs to refresh themselves in after the hot walk and cold drinks and a BBQ for the owners.  We also have a variety of vendors selling and showing merchandise designed for pets and owners, carnival style games, an adoption dog showcase and a silent auction. The day wraps up at 2:00 p.m. where we have shuttle vans waiting to return people and pets back to their cars at Bingemans.
