Pet Look-A-Like Contest 2007

The K-W Humane Society held the 2nd annual Pet Look-a-like Contest on Saturday, February 17th as part of the Waterloo Ice Dogs Festival. The contest was great fun and all contestants were good sports!  Each contestant had 90 seconds to impress upon the judges how they most look like their pet.  The judges, Jenn Toof, Animal Care Supervisor at KWHS, Valerie Beyer, Board President at KWHS, and Toby, a volunteer at KWHS, had to make the very difficult decision of which pets most resembled their owners.  Here are the winners:

1st Place

Bailey and Kaylee Robson.  Besides looking alike they also both enjoy cookies, have rhyming names, and like to chase their cat, Shadow.

1st Place
2nd Place

2nd Place

D’Arcy and Deborah.  This pair both hate the cold weather and came bundled head to toe in clothes to keep them warm.  Both were even wearing tights!

3rd Place

Pooksie and Rene Collins.  (Pictured here is Pooksie, Rene, and her Husband) This group is a nod to the senior set:  Senior pets with senior owners.  They waited all day to compete in the Pet Look a-like Contest and kept warm with matching peaked hats and knitted blankets.

3rd Place

Honourable Mention

Bridgit and Cathy Brown.  This pair came ready to celebrate the City of Waterloo’s 150th anniversary in matching outfits and both had plenty of energy!

Thanks to all who participated and we hope to see you again next year!
