The Tales for Tails program here at Notre Dame is thriving. The teachers, children and parents are equally excited about the program.

I wish I could say every child in the program has increased a reading level but without supportive testing, what I can say is that every child in the program waits enthusiastically for their turn with Doris and Muskoka and at that paticular time their feelings towards reading are positive. Muskoka and Doris provide the children with a comforting presence with a task that can be difficult and tedious.

As an aside..... one of our students suffered a brain injury last summer.... he was a member of the Tales for Tails group last year.

At a case conference with his rehabilitation doctors and workers his dad shared that his favorite memory of school was his time with the "dog lady."

Now that says it all !!
