The Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society Launches a Food Assistance Program for Pets! PDF Print E-mail

The Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society (KWHS) is proud to be working with Meals on Wheels Community Support Connections and Iams to launch a new program called ‘AniMeals'. This is a pet-food-on-wheels program that provides regular meals, free of charge for the dogs and cats of homebound elderly and disabled people.

Most homebound individuals are somewhat isolated from the outside world. For these individuals, owning a pet can be especially meaningful. It provides companionship, diversion, and even a reason for living. The mission of the program is to help keep people and their companion pets together by eliminating one of the logistical and financial impediments to proper pet care.

Our Centre is proud to be working with Meals on Wheels on this very important venture.

For more information please contact Gail Blanchard-Arsenault, Volunteer Coordinator at (519) 745-5615.
