Education

edu-nancyThe Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society (KWHS) believes that all animals deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, empathy and compassion. Animals have an intrinsic value in improving the quality of life of an individual, family and community. Public education on the humane treatment of animals leads to a more civil society and a better world.

Our Education Programs are multi-faceted, reaching over twenty-five thousand children, youth, adults, and seniors annually through: school presentations, Junior Vet Clubs, our P.D. Day Critter Camps, School Field Trips to the KWHS, and Animaniacs Summer and March Break Day Camps. Presentations include a summary of the services provided by the KWHS, and an age-appropriate Humane Education topics designed to impact the learners to a heightened awareness of the responsibility in the care and protection of animals, and safety around animals. Our education animals are involved in these various programs, and there are opportunities for animal involvement.
