Volunteering at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society (KWHS) takes on many shapes and forms. You can volunteer to work directly with the animals, help with fundraising and special events, work with kids in our education programs, and much more. Some volunteer jobs have to be done during business hours, while others can be done during evenings and weekends. Whatever your choice is, know that we appreciate the time and efforts given to help us help the animals.
Our minimum age requirement for volunteering is 14 years. Those younger than 14 years can volunteer with their parent or guardian as a family. Though the ability to drive is not a requirement, we do ask that potential volunteer have the ability to meet commitments at the Centre and other events. We require volunteers to commit to a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months.
Please see our information package for more details on the specific volunteer roles that we have available.
