Volunteering at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society (KWHS) takes on many shapes and forms. You can volunteer to work directly with the animals, help with fundraising and special events, or do a combination of both. Some volunteer jobs have to be done after hours, while others can be done outside of traditional business hours. Whatever your choices, know that we appreciate the time and efforts given to help us help the animals.
Those who have an interest in working directly with the animals should be aware we deal with many species of animals at the KWHS. Therefore, we suggest that being comfortable with the many species, and having no known allergies, would be an asset in this area. Our minimum age requirement for volunteering is 14 years. Though the ability to drive is not a requirement, we do ask that the potential Volunteer have the ability to meet commitments at the Centre, or other events.
We make every effort to make all our Volunteers a part of the team. Without the help of our core Volunteers, our pets wouldn’t get the love and attention they so desperately need.
Once again, thank you for considering volunteering at the KWHS.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering. All of our volunteer orientations have been booked for 2010. However, as our needs are always changing we may have something that you can help with in the future. Please keep checking back for updates.
